On Monday morning, January 31, OneVoice tees off – and your participation in the OneVoice 2011 Golf Tournament will “spread the good,” thanks to the outreach and pro bono programs of the Foundation for Financial Planning. The mission of the Foundation is to help people take control of their financial lives by connecting the financial planning community with people in need. It achieves this by supporting pro bono advice and financial life skills educational activities. Some of the Foundation’s recent outreach includes funding for the creation of the Financial Matters Initiative, designed to teach high school students about managing money wisely; financial support for outreach to groups such as the Center for American Indian Economic Development, the Center for Women and Families, and the New Mexico Project for Financial Literacy; and a comprehensive publication on financial planning for active-duty military and veterans. The Foundation’s work is supported by contributions from individuals, as well as corporate donors, including many of FSI’s broker-dealer members.
